Get Chic for a Cause
Rajo Laurel and Rags2Riches’ Enviro-chic bag takes the guilt out of going shopping
It’s hard to be a shopaholic these days.
With world economies feeling the pinch, budgeting is the new black. But don’t they say that to keep the flow of commerce going is to help keep the economy alive? Becky Bloomwood would look at it this way: shopping can save jobs. Now it can help save the environment, too, with Eastwood Mall’s Enviro-chic bag.
Designed by Rajo Laurel in collaboration with Rags2Riches, the Enviro-chic bag is created entirely from recycled materials, from its canvas body to its macramé handles. Proceeds will benefit Rags2Riches, a social enterprise that helps the marginalized women of Payatas, and the National Red Cross.
Who says you can’t be fashionable and socially responsible at the same time? Somehow, indulging in that next big sale doesn’t have to feel quite so self-serving.
