SPOT.ph Guide to Christmas Basics

Just to get you started this holiday season.

(SPOT.ph) Quick! If you're not paying attention, this holiday season may just pass you by. We understand things may get a little bit hectic, a little bit confusing, and downright crazy during this time of year. Don't be frazzled. We're giving you the basics to help you get started with your preparations. From shopping for well-curated gifts to getting the holiday décor right (should you invest in a belen this year or just your average parol?), we're here to help!

DÉCOR

Spruce up your home and your interiors with decorations found on Gilmore Street. They have almost everything-from festive lights, colorful parols, to belens. If you want to invest in a new Christmas tree or shiny decorative balls, head over to The SM Store. There's a reason they've "got it all for you." Rustan's Department Store and Crossings Department Stores are complete with holiday décor, too. For those that won't put a dent on your wallet, try National Bookstore for cute finds.

GIVEAWAYS/STOCKING STUFFERS

These stuffers do not need to be expensive at all. Find one that's right for the person you're giving it to at Divisoria and 168 Mall. You can also find cute items at Saizen and Quirks. Or, for the kikay one, head over to Beauty Bar for finds that won't break the bank.

WRAPPING PAPER

Make a statement with your gift-wrapping skills from cute-printed wrapping paper from Wrap Shop (P15 to P65) or Tie Me Up Butter Cup (P40). If you don't feel like doing the wrapping, no problem, check our list of directory of gift-wrapping services that'll be happy to do the work for you.

FOOD

Home cooked meals are the best, that's a fact, but when you're pressed for time, do try the Slow Roasted Beef Belly from El Cirkulo (P875) or the Baked Salmon from Conti's (P1,725, party-sized). If you're thinking of throwing a lavish feast, try hosting a yummy Mongolian barbecue feast from Sweet Inspirations (call 433-4200) or a Spanish dinner fit for royalty from Casa Armas (call 897-3542). Or, if you want food that's close to home try Amber's (check their official page for their contact numbers) For more options, check our Top 10 Potluck Ideas.
