CHECK IT OUT: Lacoste celebrates 80th anniversary with a pop-up exhibit
The world’s most famous crocodile is celebrating in style
(SPOT.ph) The iconic crocodile has just turned 80 years old, and to celebrate, they're taking us on a flashback fieldtrip. On January 13, Lacoste launched an exhibit at Shangri-La Plaza's East Wing, featuring their legendary shirt in designs that could quite well be considered art, along with images and objects dating back to 1933, when the brand was first founded by tennis champion René Lacoste. Fun fact: Lacoste was nicknamed "The Alligator" by the US press in 1923, but, GQ explains, when he returned to France, it became "Crocodile."
