Free Comic Book Day at Fully Booked on May 3
Doors open at 10 a.m.
(SPOT.ph) Pertinent information first: they start giving away comic books at 10 a.m. This is happening on Saturday, May 3, and you should be prepared because the entire world is with you on this day. Free Comic Book Day unites fans everywhere in the world in celebration of wonderful stories vividly illustrated on paper.
We repeat: the gates open at 10 a.m., so be at the following branches of Fully Booked early:
- Bonifacio High Street
- Alabang Town Center
- SM Mall of Asia
- Greenbelt 5
- Power Plant Mall, Rockwell
- Promenade, Greenhills
- Eastwood Mall
- Regis Center, Katipunan
- TheBlock, SM North EDSA
In case you weren’t part of this awesome event last year, some people go to the bookstores as early as 5 a.m. It’s hot, so bring a bottle of water (in a tumbler), a hat, a fan, and, most importantly, a friend. If you don’t have a friend, go make one while you wait for the doors to open. Don’t be shy. Everyone in line loves comic books, so just start chatting with them about Adrian Tomine or, you know, Batman. It’s not exactly Comi-Con or Komikon, but you can wear a costume if you like. Or just a shirt with some cool graphics on it.
Aside from a free comic book, Fully Booked is offering a 20% discount on all graphic novel and manga purchases on that day. But wait! Of course there’s more. Fully Booked in High Street is giving away not one, not two, but three free comic books. The branch will also hold special events in partnership with Comic Odyssey throughout the day, and at Top Shelf on the fifth floor, Filipino artists from the local and international scene will be making and selling art.
If that’s not enough, Fully Booked will also be distributing an exclusive cover from a DC Comics sample-the only store that will release it outside the US.
