Bench collaborates with artists Geraldine Javier and Ronald Ventura for charity
The collection will help provide boats for fishermen in Ormoc, Leyte.
(SPOT.ph) What happens when you fuse fashion and art? A collection full of emotion, depth, and purpose. Bench has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists Ronald Ventura and Geraldine Javier, respectively, to bring two collections to life for Big Art, Big Style, Bigger Cause which will support the 6,200 Mission Possible. The charity is spearheaded by Lucy Torres-Gomez, whose goal is to provide 6,200 fishermen in Ormoc, Leyte with fiberglass bancas for their livelihood. The collection will be available in stores starting tomorrow, February 6, 2015.
The Bench x Ronald Ventura collection will be made up of three designs by the artist, one of which will only be available in 100 pieces, while the other two will be available in stores. The artwork represents the cause for which it was made-life-like hands and feet, rainbow-colored paddles protruding out of a giant eye to represent hope, and even unique sculptures of it, all for the sake of charity.
The collections were previewed at the launch of Art Fair Philippines 2015 yesterday, February 4, at The Link in Makati.
The Bench x Geraldine Javier is a nine-piece capsule collection, four for women and five for men. This collaboration brought life to shirts that are inspired by Javier’s distinctive way of creating art-leaves on fabric, embroidery, and a combination of indigenous textile patterns.
