Mattel released a Filipina-inspired doll in their latest collection

(SPOT.ph) Mutya ng Pilipinas and other glamorous local beauty pageants that use the word "mutya" in their titles have inspired the name of a new Barbie doll. Mattel took a very refreshing take on their dolls with its Global Glamour Collection. Mutya means "pearl" or "beauty" or "muse." The morena, dark-haired Barbie doll is dressed in an organza terno embellished with embroidered floral design inspired by sampaguita, the national flower of the country. It also comes with shoes, a pair of gold-toned earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, and a golden lace fabric fan, all inspired by Filipino culture.
