(SPOT.ph) Beauty junkies, we know you'd travel to far-off places or pay shipping fee after shipping fee just to get your holy grails from wherever in the world they come from. But before you book your next plane ticket or hit "Add to Cart," why not check out the goodies your home turf's got to offer first? We have tons of local dupes for popular beauty products as well as skincare gems you can find at your local supermarket. If you're on the hunt for something new, we recently spotted a new homegrown beauty brand you might want to check out: Say hello to Filipinta Beauty!

A combination of the words "Filipina" and "pinta," the portmanteau basically means "face paint for Filipinas." The label seeks to create makeup that has a distinctly local touch, but still embraces modern makeup techniques. Their first line of products called the Diwata Collection pays homage to the mythical creature from native folklore. The star of the the collection is the Diwata Eyeshadow Palette (P680). It features nine vibrant colors (five mattes, two metallic shades, and two jelly shimmers) including warm brown tones, bright oranges, and even forest greens. You can play around with the versatile hues to create wearable everyday looks as well as high-fashion editorial looks. The pigmented powders are blendable, buildable, and suited for a variety of skin tones.

To complete your MOTD, the collection also includes two lippies with a glossy finish: Maria Cacao, a bronze-toned red shade with a metallic finish, and Maria Makiling, a dusty pink nude.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that they'll come out with even more gorgeous products and that more local beauty brands will keep popping up in the future!
