CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida led the pack of celebs who attended the My Pilipinas Moleskine launch, a Collezione-C2, Moleskine and National Bookstore collaboration, at the Powerplant Mall on February 18. Peñaflorida was awarded a limited-edition My Pilipinas Moleskine notebook in recognition of his achievements and efforts to make education more accessible to less fortunate children through his kariton classroom concept.
Designed by Collezione-C2 Creative Director Rhett Eala, the limited edition Moleskine features the iconic Philippine map on the legendary notebook. Moleskine journals and notebooks are created in the tradition reminiscent of the ones used by artists and thinkers throughout history like Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Ernest Hemingway; housing sketches, stories, and ideas destined for greatness. Moleskine was established as a brand in 1997 by Modo&Modo, a small Milanese publisher that rediscovered and renewed the tradition of the nameless black notebook. The large (P1,480) and pocket-size (P995) My Pilipinas Moleskine notebooks are sold exclusively at Collezione-C2 branches and selected National Bookstore outlets.
Collezione-C2 also showcased its new My Pilipinas clothing line that featured dresses, jackets, tops and bags. "The My Pilipinas line aims to transform the Philippine fashion scene by igniting the nationalistic spirit of Filipinos with the addition of the Philippine map imprinted on each piece," said Rhett Eala. Spotted at the launch were models Rissa Mananquil, Tweetie de Leon, Kelly Misa and Jasmine Maierhofer; fashion icon Tessa Prieto-Valdes; TV host Raymond Gutierrez; VJ Bianca Roque; Preview editor Pauline Suaco-Juan and JR Isaac. TV personality Daphne Osena-Paez hosted the event.
