VIDEO: Serial killing suspect Mark Dizon busted because of Facebook
Computer technician Mark Dizon, 28, was arrested on July 27 in San Fernando, La Union on suspicion of being responsible for a series of killings and robberies in Angeles City, Pampanga, reports The Associated Press via Google News.
Dizon is suspected of killing nine people in three different robberies in Angeles City: American national Albert Mitchell, his Filipina wife Janet and their three helpers; Canadian Geoffrey Alan Bennun and his Filipina girlfriend; and Briton James Bolton Porter and his girlfriend.
Dizon was tracked down through his photo on his Facebook page that was accessible to one of his Facebook friends, the daughter of murdered victim Albert Mitchell. A family friend of the Mitchells showed the photo to witnesses who identified Dizon as the gunman seen fleeing the Mitchells’ house in Angeles City.
According to GMANews.tv, Senior Superintendent Danilo Bautista, acting Angeles City police chief, told radio dwIZ that Dizon called his family to say he wanted to join the communist New People’s Army. The police then had an undercover operative posing as an NPA member meet up with Dizon at the city plaza, where Dizon was arrested.
