Vicki Belo says she paid $8,000, not $36,000, for Regine Velasquez’s wedding gown
Addressing rumors that she paid $36,000 (about P1.6 million) for Regine Velasquez’ wedding gown, cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo told The Buzz that the Monique Lhuillier creation she bought for the singer costs $8,000 (about P350,000). Belo said, "Of course it is not cheap, but it’s very far from the (rumored) $30,000."
According to ABS-CBNNews.com, Belo is one of the principal sponsors of the upcoming 2010 nuptials of singers Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid. She offered to pay for Velasquez’ gown, which is inspired by Lhuillier’s Bridal Fall 2010 collection.
Regine Velasquez tells TV Patrol World she will not wear white on her wedding day.
Velasquez did not divulge the color of her gown but she told TV Patrol World she will wear neither white nor red. She told Ricky Lo of The Philippine Star, "I’ve been a bride several times in film and on TV, wearing white, so in real life gusto ko maiba naman (I want to mix it up). Besides, hindi na naman ako, well, alam mo na (I’m not, well, you-know-what)." Lo wrote, "According to tradition, white symbolizes purity, so you must understand what Regine is driving at."
