Patrick dela Rosa’s alleged rape victim to pursue case against him despite supposed P2.5 million offer
Showbiz Central video: Update on Patrick dela Rosa’s rape case
The alleged rape victim of actor-turned-politician Patrick dela Rosa, "Roxanne" (not her real name), 20, told Showbiz Central she will continue the case her camp has filed against him. He will not learn if she doesn’t, the college student said. In an ABS-CBNNews.com report, she claimed to have rejected a P2.5-million offer from him. She also denied asking for P5 million from dela Rosa, who is currently a member of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Board and a former commercial model and "bold" star in the ’80s.
In the Showbiz Central and ABS-CBNNews.com reports, Roxanne recounted the supposed incident that happened on October 8, around 2 a.m. After a stage play rehearsal, she and a friend supposedly decided to spend the night at a friend’s condo unit at Regalia Park Towers in Quezon City.. There, Roxanne said they joined the drinking session to celebrate the birthday of the unit owner’s brother. It was then that she first met dela Rosa, she said, who she only recognized by face. "Maayos siyang kausap. (He was decent to talk to.)"
Later that night, she claimed she was only tipsy, not drunk, but decided to stop drinking and go to sleep. Dela Rosa then entered the room she was in and allegedly raped her. ABS-CBNNews.com quoted her as saying, "Relaxed lang siya. Nakangisi. Parang nang-aasar. (He was relaxed. He was smirking and seemingly taunting me.)" When dela Rosa supposedly tried reasoning that they were both drunk anyway, she claimed she replied that she was already sleeping and that he had no permission to enter the room.
Roxanne denied filing rape charges against dela Rosa to become famous. "I don’t want to enter showbiz." She told Showbiz Central in a mix of Filipino and English, "I’m only 20 years old. How can I enjoy my life now? I can’t go out without feeling scared. I don’t feel safe anymore."
Dela Rosa’s legal counsel Romeo Gonzales insisted that his client is "innocent of the crime charged against him," according to Showbiz Central. Dela Rosa is still detained at the Cubao Police Station.
