(SPOT.ph) Back in the day, only burger joints served burgers, and they did so with less pageantry. Burgers were usually served on a plain bun, with a squirt of catsup (and mustard if you’re feeling fancy), some greens and a few slices of pickles. These days, both casual restaurants and fine-dining spots have upped the ante by using premium cuts of meat like Black Angus and wagyu, and adding some prime, out-of-the-ordinary toppings such as Portabello mushrooms, foie gras, and truffles.
For this list, SPOT.ph scoured the city for the most buzzed-about beef burgers in town. We’ve baptized the burgers on this list as "gourmet," and in this case, we've taken gourmet to mean burgers that use only the best grade-A ingredients, plus an extra special topping or two that make the experience worth your every hard-earned peso.
