Dentists alerted about serial robbery-molestation crimes
(SPOT.ph) Dentists are the target of a new modus operandi for molesting and robbing, reports GMA News. Philippine Dental Association president Dr. Roberto Tajonera is urging dentists to install CCTV cameras and employ male bodyguards after learning of several cases in various parts of Luzon.
According to the report, the modus begins when the "patient," presumably under a false name, walks in for an appointment. After the procedure, he would whip out a gun (or another weapon) from his bag and announce a robbery. He would also tie the dentist to the dentist chair and molest her.
A victim, whom GMA News hid under the pseudonym "Arlene," said that her "patient" pointed a knife at her and took away P40,000 in cash as well as other belongings. Meanwhile, three dentists and another patient in Tandang Sora, Quezon City, were also bound and robbed, reports ABS-CBN News. After the robbery, he proceeded to masturbate, explaining to his victims: "SOP lang ito sa ka-grupo ko (This is SOP for our group)."
In San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan, the "patient" worked with an accomplice who served as lookout. The accomplice also locked the dentist’s assistant in a separate room while the "patient" tried to molest the dentist, according to the report.
There were other incidences in Antipolo, Marikina and Manila. The Manila Police District released a sketch of one of the suspects. He is said to be 5'6" or 5'7," 30 to 35 years old, with dark skin tone and medium-sized build, reports ABS-CBN.
