Kalinga governor attacks broadcaster in radio booth
(SPOT.ph) Just as radio broadcaster Jerome Tabanganay was ending his show on Radyo ng Bayan DZRK yesterday, June 7, Kalinga Governor Jocel Baac entered his booth and attacked him, reports Saksi.
Flanked by a group of men, Baac yanked off Tabanganay’s microphone and used it to hit the broadcaster on the mouth. Immediately afterwards, Tabanganay recounted the attack on the radio program.
Though the attack was recorded on video, Baac vehemently denied the allegation, explaining that he became aggravated when the broadcaster announced that he (Baac) was meddling with the station. Baac clarified that he was only correcting false information that DZRK broadcasted. Tabanganay said that he would complain against Baac. The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines also condemned the incident.
