(SPOT.ph) Popular for regaling Manila’s dining-out crowd with California-style pizza, pasta and salads for more than a decade now, CPK has added 25 new dishes featuring exciting flavors adapted to the Asian palate.
Some of the newbies on the menu are exclusive to the Philippines, including the new Pumpkin Soup (P180), a hearty serving of pumpkin, shaved parmesan and crispy bacon bits. The Dynamite Seafood (P395) appetizer is a less spicy but just as tasty version of the shrimp, baby clams, mussels and calamari dish from CPK Shanghai. They’ve also created personal serving sizes of pizza, pasta and salads good for 2 to 3 people.
Healthy eaters will find dishes to suit their no-meat diet: the Smoked Salmon Pizza’s (P375, personal size; P545, family-size) fresh, nutty arugula flavors are mixed in with smoked salmon, peas and dill in lemon shallot sauce, while the Spaghettini Vongole (P265, personal size; P475, family-size) flaunts a nice mix of clams, shrimp, calamari, and zucchini in white wine and broth, which pairs excellently with a glass of Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. Wine pairing suggestions for the dishes have also been added to the menu.
For dessert, try CPK’s new S’mores Dessert Pizza-classic pizza dough topped with butter, crushed graham crackers, dark Belgian chocolate, marshmallows and walnuts, plus a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a sublime dessert. The Mud Pie made with Oreo is an equally satisfying choice: chocolate-covered Oreos are layered with homemade ice cream and served with hot fudge drizzled on top.
