ABS-CBNNews.com reports that Go Shung Young, 26-the prime suspect in the killing of his girlfriend, Zhao Chun Lan, 24-was arrested by members of the Homicide Division of the Manila Police District at around 4 a.m. on Friday, February 3. Last January 14, at around 4:30 a.m., a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed in the premises of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas recorded a brutal incident between Go and Zhao.
The report noted: "The CCTV footage showed the two arguing with each other until Go boarded the car and hit the victim. Go then [got out of] his car and stabbed Zhao in her chest three times. Go [then] got back into his car and ran over the unconscious [and already-wounded] victim. [He then]sped off. Zhao, who was a frequent jogger in the area where she was killed, later died at the Ospital ng Maynila."
Go owned to the crime, but he claimed that he killed Zhao "after she threatened to have him killed after he failed to pay the P1.3 million he owes her." The report further revealed: "Police also learned Go had been involved in a series of thefts in several condominium units. They also said that despite being a foreign national, Go will not be able to escape from a murder charge."
