(SPOT.ph) This year, the famed swimwear brand draws inspiration from "light" and "identity." For Speedo’s latest collection, one can expect a palette of mid-tones and pastels that allude to feelings of weightlessness and floating, as well as bright and vibrant hues that refer to various cultures.

The Spring/Summer 2012 line is divided into four sub-collections: Play and Fun-trendy tankinis, bikinis, and board shorts designed for leisure swimming; Health and Well-being-tailored for water-based exercises and aqua activity; Swim Fitness-stylish and sporty pieces engineered for added comfort, freedom and movement, and bust support; and Competitive-with emphasis on hardwearing and highly technical swimming garments.

Some new products to look forward to are the Speedo Aquapack (a pair of compact shorts with pockets), the Speedo LZR Racer Xpress Dry (which dries three times faster than conventional shorts), and the Aquaspit (a suit with a new "control print" design).
