Danish owner of Malate’s Michel Apartments shoots Filipino wife, pet dog, then stabs self

Inquirer.net reports that on Friday, February 24, at around 1:30 p.m., Danish citizen Rene Lindhart Larsen, 55-the owner of Michel Apartments on Mabini Street in Malate-shot to death his 55-year-old Filipino wife, Maria Petronila, and their dog. He then stabbed himself and jumped to his death from their 9th floor unit.

According to the report,"investigators could only surmise that Larsen first shot his wife with a 9mm pistol as she lay on a recliner at the mezzanine. He then went to their bedroom, where the dog was shot while lying on the couple’s bed."

The report quoted SPO1 Alonzo Layugan, who revealed that the Larsens’ maid, 33-year-old housemaid Jorlyn Caballero had been asked to buy soda from a nearby store.
