Manila Bulletin Online reports that Movement 188-the group of congressmen who voted to impeach Chief Justice Renato Corona-have filed a House Resolution 2191 pushing for the replacement of President Noynoy Aquino’s five-year-old presidential car. The reasoned that "the move would amply protect the Chief Executive amid reports of heightened global terrorism."

The congressmen identified as the group’s "stalwarts" were: Reps. Ben Evardone (LP, Eastern Samar); Cesar Sarmiento (LP, Catanduanes); Mel Senen Sarmiento (LP, Western Samar); Antonio del Rosario (LP, Capiz); Roger Mercado (LP, Southern Leyte), and Alfredo Benitez (NPC, Negros Occidental).

In the resolution, the congressmen pointed out that aside from the fact the limousine bought in 2007 being prone to breakdowns, the two 1998-model vehicles that are also currently designated for Aquino’s use are "already unreliable because of wear and tear."
