You Can Score Some Cool Gift Items at This Five-Day Pop-Up Shop

Shop stylish threads, cute stationery, and more at Basic Movement Club!

( Now in its fourth run, Basic Movement Club is finally ready to open its doors to the public. Founded by Esme Palaganas of Basic Movement, the series aims to bring together the worlds of design and commerce—and bring the online shopping experience to a physical space where customers, aptly called club members, can interact and actually touch the designs. For this iteration, the club partnered with café and bar Commune and graphic designers Jo Malinis and Rax Maniquiz of Studio Mama. We list some of the brands you can expect to shop at the pop-up.



Soliel Ignacio

The illustrator will sell stickers, notebooks, totes, and prints of her dreamy watercolored women.




Bagasao, founded by Agustin Bagasao, has been featured and stocked in Laforet, a department store in Shibuya, Tokyo. Its designs are bold and impactful without sacrificing practically.



Problem Studios

Fresh from having just shown in Amazon Tokyo Fashion Week, Problem by Jen Contreras uses a lot of bright colors with whimsy and kitsch—making it the perfect thing to wear to a fun Christmas party.



Sunday Paper Co.

No one can have too many notebooks! Sunday Paper Co.’s minimalist designs, which now include bags and cases, can fit seamlessly into anyone’s wardrobe or desk. Perfect for stationery lovers!




Transit, with its twin brands Girl in Transit and Boy in Transit, does its take on streetwear with the use of stark imagery and nostalgia.



Basic Movement

Don’t let its name fool you. Basic Movement by Esme Palaganas presents a world where basics are at once elevated as though every day is a day that’s lush with fashion.



Basic Movement Club is open at Commune from Thursday, November 30 to Sunday, December 3 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
