Every Corner of This Local Candle Brand's Studio Is Fit for the 'Gram

(SPOT.ph) Scents—aside from the fact that they transport us to a state of Zen (we're talking aromatherapy, baby)—can also trigger memories, bringing us back to certain dates and places. A good whiff of coffee beans may remind you of slow mornings in your favorite coffee shop or the smell of freshly baked pastries will bring you back to summers spent in your grandmother's kitchen. The good memories and vibes, plus the soothing-soul effect these scents bring, are probably why you've been filling your spaces with scented candles, reed diffusers, and the like. You can't get enough of them. That said, we're not a scent, but allow us to take you to a place that's full of it. Popular scented candles brand Saan Saan Studio has opened up their newest physical outpost in Pasig City, and yes, it looks as good as it smells.

Take your feet (and nose) to Saan Saan Studio's newest shop and get a whiff of their scents.

Founded in 2018, Saan Saan offers small-batch, local, and handmade soy candles, incense, reed diffusers, soaps, and other implements that you could gift to yourself, your family and friends right in time for the holidays. According to the brand, all scents made are drawn from owner Mark Zavalla's "personal experiences, memories, and favorite passages in literature."

"[...] Our noses can bring back details of a memory faster than any other senses. I was also very inspired by the idea of traveling through scents, without leaving your room," said Zavalla, who also makes candles. These candles might just inspire you to finally lead "a slower, more mindful living" in the coming year. New Year's resolutions ar coming up, after all. 

We spotted a few familiar scents in their in-store collections. Take, for example, the bestselling No. 05 Linen Room scents which—with talcum powder, lavender, and lime—will make you feel like you're in the comfort of your own home, all wrapped in fresh linen. They also have holiday scents like the Christmas Cafe, Simbang Gabi, and Pumpkin & Juniper that evoke happy memories of the season. Apart from their candles and scents, we also spotted a few home goods like benches, wooden trays, earthenware and more.

"I think that’s ultimately what I’m also trying to create: a home for these little portals. Then of course storytelling through scents generates a lot of conversations. That’s also why pop-ups have good turnouts because people want to connect and I also love hearing people's stories," added Zavalla.

Saan Saan Studio is located at G/F, Ace Hotel and Suits, United corner Brixton Streets, Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Doors are open from Tuesdays to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Fridays to Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
