Before being actual parents of four-legged fur babies, you've cared for Tamagotchis first—after all, it was (and still is) on every 90s kid's wish list. From the OG to various incarnations, collaborations, and mobile phone applications of your favorite childhood game, now comes the latest addition: fantastic beasts in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts to your virtual pets to take care of. Time to channel your inner Newt Scamander and heal your inner child, muggle or not.

Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Tamagotchis are set to release soon.
Bandai Namco—home to Gundam, Pacman, et cetera—has partnered up with Harry Potter to bring magic into the Tamagotchi Nano, which is a series for crossover-themed virtual pets. It had limited-edition collaborations: Demon Slayer, Hello Kitty, Spy x Family, Toy Story—heck, even BT21, and TinyTAN Tamagotchis were released in Japan, South Korea, and the US. And now they're about to drop this new collab in July.
Your Tamagotchis will act as a vivarium for one out of 25 different kinds of magical creatures depending on your play pattern. We spotted a Niffler you can have as your pet, just keep an eye out for your shiny things or else they might keep it for themselves.
In true Tamagotchi fashion, you can feed, pet, and play mini-games ("Catch Gold," "Deliver of Letter," "Fly Hippogriff," and "Picking a Lock") with your virtual pets. There are two modes: the Harry Potter mode, which allows the player to spend hours at Hogwarts Castle, and the Fantastic Beasts mode, which allows you to play hours in a magical suitcase. You might even catch a few of your favorite Harry Potter characters throughout your play.
The shells come in two styles: Hogwarts Castle, which is painted blue with the castle in the background, and Magical Creatures, painted red with the different magical creatures around the small screen. Both have three buttons at the bottom. Check out the designs here:
It looks like it'll only be available in the US and Japan at $19.99 (which is approximately P1,105) for now. Pre-orders have already started on Amazon. But fret not, you can always feed your inner child with a wide range of Tamagotchis available up for grabs online and at affordable prices, too.
