LOOK: Gentle Monster Opens First Store in Manila

(SPOT.ph) Korean entertainment stans and fashion fiends alike cheered when Gentle Monster unveiled its first storefront in Manila some weeks back. The South Korean eyewear brand finally opened the doors of its first store in the Philippines, located at 5th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City. SPOT.ph got to go before the official opening, and we're here to give you a first look of the creative space.

Here's a sneak peek at the Gentle Monster store in Manila

You can't miss the store at all, not with its blinking eye and gigantic floating sculpture. Gentle Monster is known for its surrealist store set-ups, and the Philippine branch is no exception. A play of tapestry and lights pepper the store, and a concrete slabs and sleek metal displays serve as homes for the brand's eyewear.

Two entrances welcome you, one directly in front of 5th Avenue, and at the side by the gardens. Take the street entrance if you want to greet the blinking eyeball that's larger than life.

Making an early appearance at the store is Korean actor Ahn Hyo-seop who flew to Manila just for the store's opening. We also spotted celebrities Anne Curtis, Sarah Lahbati, James Reid, and Liza Soberano grace the Gentle Monster black carpet later in the evening.

The elusive Maison Margiela x Gentle Monster collaboration will be available in a Manila-exclusive restock, so you better act fast if you've been meaning to get a pair from the highly coveted collection.

Gentle Monster's Manila store will open its doors to the public on October 17. It will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sundays to Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
