(SPOT.ph) Love is dead. Just kidding. Not really. Whether you're a fan or not, the entire country seems to be affected by onscreen-and-offscreen couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla confirming their breakup on November 30 through individual statements posted on their respective Instagram accounts. Of course, everyday citizens were quick to share their personal reactions to the news. But brands and companies seem to also have been affected by the news and have posted their reactions online.
Here are brand reactions to the KathNiel breakup:
Lazada
Kathryn Bernardo is one of Lazada Philippines' current celebrity endorsers—which also include Anne Curtis, Sarah Geronimo, and Bernardo's Hello, Love, Goodbye co-star Alden Richards. This brand was arguably the first to react to the news. The same night as the IG posts, Lazada posted an image of Lazzie, their mascot-slash-avatar, on Facebook looking forlorn and sad (not in their usual happy and ready-to-check-out look) in front of a plain black background. While the post didn't include any copy, one could presume that it's their subtle way of reacting to their celeb ambassador's sad news.
The day after the KathNiel breakup announcement, Lazada knew we needed some retail therapy to deal with it. And so they even announced National Super Stay Strong Day. "Daming feels today? Stay strong, mga Ka-Lazada!
Shawarma Shack
Shawarma Shack's ambassador isn't just Kathryn—but both Kathryn and Daniel. People might have assumed that the shawarma chain's buy-one-take-one promo was dependent on their amabassadors' relationship status, so Shawarma Shack cleared up any possible confusion.
In a Facebook post, Shawarma Shack said, "Ang daming nag ta-tag sa [amin] sa sobrang dami nagha-hang ang desktop namin! Sa mga nagtatanong BUY ONE TAKE ONE [PA RIN] tayo FOREVER kaya sugod na sa [pinakamalapit] na Shawarma Shack!"
KitKat
Chocolate brand KitKat—whose tagline, is, of course, "Have a break, have a KitKat"—also took some time to express their reaction. It's a simple photo of a broken KitKat finger, with the text, "Some breaks even we find hard to take." Echoing Kathryn and Daniel's hopes of healing forward together, they captioned their post with, "Here's to a sweet new chapter!"
JobStreet
Online job board and website JobStreet came out with their own KathNiel-inspired resignation letter. In her hearfelt letter, Kath says, "Deej, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of love that I will forever cherish. I will always be grateful for you." JobStreet's post reads, "Dear Company, you gave me 11 beautiful years and the kind of experience I will forever cherish. I will forever be grateful for you. But now it's time to seek better."
They echo Kathryn and Daniel's hopes of healing forward together, with the caption, "When it’s time to go, cherish the lessons and be grateful. This is your cue to #SEEKBetter and grow beyond the familiar." And in case you were wondering if they were referencing KathNiel, they ended their post with the hashtag, #KathNiel.
