(SPOT.ph) There's no denying the heavy breaths your laptop takes whenever you have more than one tab open. We know, we know: You're waiting for that big upgrade before you finally level up. Because if you're going to spend that much, it might as well last you for the long run. If you've read up on your tech blogs and Reddit reviews, then you might have been eyeing the MacBook Air ever since it came with the M1 chip. Then, it came with the M2 chip and you still haven't made your move. Good thing you waited, though, because now we have the Apple MacBook Air M3. So, if you've been waiting for the right long-term investment, this is it. The MacBook Air is a popular choice among everyday laptop users because it delivers on the performance of the MacBook Pro but without the weight.

The Apple MacBook Air finally comes with the M3 chip.
The M3 chip was first introduced by Apple in 2023 when the tech giant announced that the new MacBook Pro and iMac releases would come with this latest innovation. According to Apple, the M3 chip "brings more speed to everything users do, including working on demanding tasks like photo and video editing." So that's a must if you work in the digital space. And these days, who doesn't? Even to a certain extent.
Apple says the new MacBook Air M3 is "the first Apple product to be made with 50 percent recycled content." Even the packaging is supposed to be made with 99% fiber-based material. It can also support up to two external displays, so you can get more work done—not that you don't already.
Apple MacBook Air M2 vs. Apple MacBook Air M3
The MacBook Air with an M3 chip is essentially the same as the previous model of the MacBook Air with an M2 chip. It has a 16-core Neural Engine, a Liquid Retina display with True Tone, and a 1080p FaceTime HD camera. As for the ports, they both have a MagSafe 3 charging port (so your laptop isn't dragged along when someone trips over your charger), and two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports. Both are also built with the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID that make sit super quick and easy to unlock your laptop.
The main difference between the two—aside from the chip, of course—is the power adapter. The MacBook Air M2 uses a 30W USB-C Power Adapter whereas the MacBook Air M3 comes with a 35W Dual USB-C Port Compact Power Adapter (P3,190 on Apple; P3,490 on Lazada). The latter lets you charge two devices at the same time. That's convenient if you also need to charge your iPad (thats serves as your extra display) or your new iPhone 15 (P47,290 from P61,990).

How much is the Apple MacBook Air with M3 Chip?
Apple lists the price for the 13-inch MacBook Air with an M3 Chip starts at P81,990 while the 15-inch starts at P93,990. The two sizes basically have the same features, but the extra two inches makes a 12,000-peso difference. They're not available for purchase just yet, as the website says to "check back later for availability."
The MacBook Air with an M2 chip starts at P59,900 on Apple and at P69,500 on Beyond the Box's Lazada. The MacBook Air M1, on the other hand, is now on sale for P45,890 from P64,990.
