(SPOT.ph) One quick scroll on Reddit can tell you pretty much what you want to know (and yes, even those you don't want to know) about anything and everything. It's full of opinion and anecdotes from people—although mostly people you've never met. If you're looking to find info on a local cult, it's there. If you're looking to join a running group that will give you the highest chances of hooking up, you'll likely find a lead there, too. Looking for the best shoes? Reddit's a source of suggestions and brutally honest reviews.

We happened to venture into its intriguing virtual halls recently while looking for first-hand takes on the New Zealand-based brand Allbirds a.k.a the "world's most comfortable shoes," or so it's touted to be. Allbirds, you see, finally arrived here in the Philippines, and we want to know if its really worth checking out. One Reddit review said: "I have been using a pair of Allbirds Tree Runners that are a few years old now and they've worked great for me. Very comfortable and lightweight." Another said: "Allbirds Trail runners have a much more durable sole and although they are not as soft and comfy as the Tree runner, I really like them for hiking."

Their bestselling styles are the Wool Runners and Tree Runners, among others. According to this Good Housekeeping review, they're "great walking shoes." The publication's experts "evaluated Allbirds firsthand, wash-testing multiple pairs, and we surveyed dozens of real-life users for feedback on the brand’s various styles." The verdict: "As a whole, the brand's shoes are exceptionally comfortable. In our consumer survey, 65 people of varying shoe sizes, genders and style preferences rated the shoes as comfortable to wear. In fact, 91% gave the shoes a perfect rating for comfort." One even compared walking on Allbirds shoes like walking on clouds.

Allbirds shoes—they have everyday sneakers, hiking shoes, slip-ons, et cetera—have very simple designs, with no flashy logos whatsoever. And you can now give them a try at select retail stores nationwide, thanks to Primer Group which brought the brand to the Philippines.

Nothing beats having to try the shoes on your own, walking to ensure the fit is nice and comfortable, even compare the online reviews to your own experience. If you want to try them out, Allbirds sneakers are available at The Travel Club+, Bratpack, Res|Toe|Run, and R.O.X. Philippines stores.

You can browse through their catalog through their website. The Allbirds website says you can try their shoes for 30 days—and "if you feel like you're not walking on cloud nine," you can return them, no questions asked.
