First Disney Store in PH: 10 Must-Buy Finds

(SPOT.ph) The doors to the happiest place in the Metro have been opened. No, we're not talking about a Disneyland in the Philippines but close—we mean the first-ever, official Disney store in our shores, which is located inside the SM Mall of Asia. Yep, the Disney Store Manila opened to the public today, September 27, and here are some cute, must-have finds you can keep an eye out for when you finally visit (a.k.a this weekend).

From kids' collectibles to clothes and homeware, there's sure to be something for all ages. This list is also perfect for when you're preparing for the upcoming holidays, in case you need some ideas for gifts. Happy magical shopping, folks!

Here are some of the must-buy items at the first-ever Disney store in the Philippines:

Mickey and Minnie Mouse Ear headbands

Your first must-have should, of course, be the Mickey and Minnie Mouse Ears headbands. A staple of every Disneyland visit, now's your chance to own one of these popular souvenirs without having to hop on a plane. You can find them in various designs and you can try them on, too. But if you ask us, you just have to get the most iconic one a.k.a the headband with Minnie Mouse's polka dotted bow. These babies retail for P1,449.

This Disney cardigan

An absolute favorite find that we didn't let go of until the very last second was this cardigan. Available in cream and bold red colorways, this comfy piece of clothing has Mickey and Minnie Mouse details adorning its pockets, chest, shoulder. A cardigan is priced at P6,849.

Munchlings

Ah, blind boxes. We're currently obsessed with this series of blind boxes and so we had to restrain ourselves from grabbing a Munchling blind box at Disney Store Manila. Inside these boxes are your favorite Disney characters taking the form of delicious bread treats. On top of being the cutest plushies ever, they are also scented. We also spotted the Terrifying Treats, which is a Halloween version of the Disney Munchlings. The Munchlings are priced at P949.

Scream-slash-Laugh Canister

Everyone knows the bright yellow canister in the Monster's Inc. franchise used by Scarers to store up the kids' screams (and eventually, their laughs) and turn them into clean energy. Now, you won't need a kid's laugh (or screams of terror...) just to fill this up. It functions as the usual water bottle for your iced cup of joes. You just might release an "unrefined scream" when you twist open the lid, though, so be warned. They retail at P2,849.

Olaf Plush Toy

Everyone loves cute little snowman Olaf from the Frozen franchise. So you'd understand why we squealed like a little kid when we caught sight of this adorable plushie. Unlike Olaf in the movies, this plush toy won't turn into a puddle of water (considering how hot it can be in the Philippines) and will keep you company forever. It retails for P2,249.

Toy Story keychains

For all our Disney anik-anik girlies, we found the perfect toys for you to show off. Attached to colorful strung beads are the characters of the Toy Story franchise. We spotted Woody, Rex, and Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear just hanging around. You can attach them to your favorite bags and show them off wherever you go. They are priced at P1,449.

Disney bag

Another fashion piece that die-hard and older Disney fans should look out for is this Disney-themed bag that has a boxy, barrel-like silhouette. You'll have plenty of space to put other Disney merch inside.

The bag is decked all over with posters of Mickey's classic animated shorts like Wild Waves in 1929. You can either use it as a handcarry or a crossover bag because it has a detachable and adjustable shoulder strap. It's priced at P2,249.

Star Light Up Lamp

They say reach for the stars but we say just buy them on your visit to the Disney store: they've got a wishing star that you could have sit on your bedside table. Inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film Wish, this cute little star is sure to light up a room, and its soft glow should make sure you have sweet dreams. They retail at P2,949. 

"I am Groot" Mug

Raise your hands if you feel a little groot pre-coffee in the morning. Your day will be ten times better once you sip your cup of joe from this "I am Groot" mug with the Groot itself as the handle. This piece retails at P1,649.

Buzz Lightyear Talking Action Figure

If you ever want to feel like recreating your favorite Toy Story franchise—'cause we're all Andy IRL—you might want to get your own Buzz Lightyear action figure for your room. The packaging looks almost the same as the one in the movies. But if you ever catch Buzz moving when you open your room's door, try to stay calm and remind yourself you're not Andy. The Buzz action figure retails at P3,349.

The Disney Store Manila is located on the first level of the North Main Mall of SM Mall of Asia, Seaside Boulevard, Pasay City. Doors are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
