Tayo Studio: ‘Everything Must Go’ as a Chapter Closes

Others are here for a moment"—this is what ethical and size-inclusive brand Tayo Studio announced through their Instagram stories last night, February 20, much to their consumers' shock and slight panic. The brand revealed they are closing a chapter, inviting long-time consumers to purchase their favorite pieces at the store.

Tayo Studio to close a chapter + clearance sale

When it comes to ethically-made, size-inclusive clothes—Tayo Studio is one of the brands that come to mind. It started as an online clothing brand in 2019 by Filipina fashion designer Yong Davalos, then expanded to many branches (one of which even became part of an Internet meme by being in the middle of two other stores). Now, they're calling for consumers to head to their nearest branches and "grab your favorite staples as [they] close this chapter of Tayo Studio." As they wrote on the post, "Everything must go."

In another post, the brand pens a message to its loyal patrons: "Five unforgettable years—every memory, and every bit of support, you'll forever be part of our story."

"Nooo"s and sad emojis flooded the comments under the post. Some hoped Tayo Studio is just rebranding (especially given the hiring post they released just last week), while others expressed their love for the brand's pieces. The studio offers a range of clothing, including tops, bottoms, coords, and dresses. Their Azul shorts are one of their best-selling designs, and people love that they cater to sizes XS through 4XL. 

We reached out via Instagram and they said that they don't have all the details yet at the moment, but that they "appreciate all your love and support for Tayo Studio over the years." Tayo Studio also announced a "clearance" for their beloved pieces starting today, February 21 until 26.
