Uniqlo is opening in Cebu

The Japanese brand will have two stores in The Queen City of the South before the end of 2015.

The SM Mall of Asia branch was the first Uniqlo opened in the Philippines

(SPOT.ph) With 23 stores already in Luzon, Japanese closet staple Uniqlo is looking to expand throughout the rest of the country—and they’re starting with Cebu, where they will open two stores by the fourth quarter of the year. The two stores will be located at SM City Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu.

Chief Operating Officer Katsumi Kubota shares that each store will be over 1,000 square meters, with a product mix that will cater to the Cebuano lifestyle. “Suited to the coastal climate,” he elaborates, upon observing that people in the Visayan city are more relaxed.

The brand aims to have at least 10 stores in the Visayas region in three to four years. In Manila, two more Uniqlo stores are set to open at Estancia Mall in Capitol Commons and Uptown Bonifacio in BGC.
