(SPOT.ph) It's always nice to hear about DIY skincare tips because it makes you feel excited about trying it out, but the truth is, most of us are lazy to mix 736,149 ingredients together...and what if we screw up, right?! Why go through all of that when you can buy a face mask at the mall?
But if a pesky zit appears out of nowhere and you need to calm it down ASAP, we found a super simple trick that will help reduce the swelling and redness in just a minute. We promise there's no complicated DIY here (and we're pretty sure you already have the ingredients, anyway).
You just need to mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt with one cup of warm water. Soak a cotton pad in the mixture, and lightly press and hold on the affected area for one minute. Salt has antimicrobial properties that can help reduce acne flareups. "A little salt does wonders for a zit,” says Bonnie Ndoci, esthetician and owner of Facials By Bonnie, a day spa in New York City.
So remember, the next time a pimple shows up on your face, you know you can run to your kitchen cabinet for help!
