FIRST LOOK: Commonwealth, SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City
Sneakerheads, this is your new happy place.
(SPOT.ph) This internationally-recognized U.S.-based specialty boutique is looking like it's about to be the new haven for sneakerheads. Commonwealth is a lifestyle brand that's been around for a decade and has since become a well-loved name among sneaker buffs and street style enthusiasts. They carry a variety of brands from COMME des GARÇONS Play to Stüssy to Dime and Adidas, and the store is now open in the Philippines—their first ever outside of the U.S.
One would ask, why the Philippines? Well, Commonwealth's original home had a very heavy Filipino-American population, and co-founder Omar Quiambao has a Filipino heritage, so it made perfect sense to bring the lifestyle store to Philippine shores.
Commonwealth is located at U/G SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City and opens today, October 15. Expect to enter a world of street, fashion, and sportswear brands, plus exclusive, limited edition collections that will surely tease your sneaker-loving heart.
Here's your first look at Commonwealth:
Step inside the modern industrial-themed shop, and you'll instantly feel like you're in a museum with shoes displayed on concrete steps and artwork hanging on the walls. Amidst the the dominantly cemented store is a breath of fresh air—quite literally. When you reach the end of the vertically designed boutique, you'll see potted plants on shelves, basking in the sunlight.
Everything's displayed like a work of art here.
Commonwealth x Clae Collaboration
There's a small corner dedicated to Commonwealth's exclusive collaborations with sneaker brands—just like a mini-museum of their very limited edition kicks. And when we say limited, we mean it.
There are only 18 pairs of these babies in the whole world.
These CDG Play kicks are TDF!
They carry a variety of fashion items (not just sneakers!).
From sunnies...
To caps...
To T-shirts...
And even button-downs!
It's pretty clear that the boutique already has a number of brands in store, but Commonwealth is looking to bring in more and more of them in time, to keep customers on their toes. But for now, it's definitely a place sneakerheads can run to when they're in need of fresh kicks.
