'90s Kids, Rejoice: The Tamagotchi Is Back
Try not to let it die this time!
(SPOT.ph) You might remember choosing to take care of your virtual pet rather than doing your homework when you were a kid. Well, now it’s time to put adulting on pause and relive your childhood memories because Tamagotchis are back!
Tokyo-based Bandai, the same company behind Power Rangers and Gundam, announced on October 10 that they are re-releasing the Tamagotchi outside of Japan to celebrate 20 years of the cult-favorite game. The new release will be about half a size smaller than the original but it comes in its original packing and in its unmistakable egg shape. And it’ll still have the same sound notifications when you forget to feed your pet. (Good luck with that!)
Aside from the size, they changed things up with the colors, too. They now come in six new and super-cute colors. Check them out:
Blue Chibi with Yellow
Pink Chibi with Blue
Light Blue Chibi with Pink
Translucent Blue Chibi
You can pre-order on the official Bandai website for U.S. $14.99 (roughly P750) starting November 5. For now, the revamped virtual furbabies are only available in Japan, but you can order it on Amazon. There’s no word yet whether they’ll be available in the Philippines but we're crossing our fingers!
