(SPOT.ph) Earlier this year, it was finally announced that the highly anticipated first IKEA store in the country will be located in the Mall of Asia complex, specifically between the SMX Convention Center and the MOA Arena. It was also revealed in a Facebook note published by The Philippine Star that a second store will be opening beside SM Fairview.
It's been a few months since we heard any news about the Swedish furniture giant's plans for the Philippines, but today we stumbled upon an exciting update posted by the Subic Bay Community Center.
Check it out:
It looks like the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and the Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation met with the IKEA team yesterday, October 23, to talk about using Subic's ports for IKEA's logistic needs—and a possible store to be located at the Freeport Zone! Exciting, right?
While nothing is final yet, we're crossing all our fingers that all their plans push through! For now, we'll be daydreaming about all of IKEA's wallet-friendly build-it-yourself furniture and, of course, their famous meatballs. Drool!
