You Can Soon Buy Furniture Online Through the IKEA Website
The newly launched website promises product delivery to your home!
People couldn’t stop talking about the 2020 opening of IKEA Philippines, which was officially announced on November 20 at a media event at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Also in the same event, Christian Rojkjaer, IKEA’s managing director for Southeast Asia, announced the launch of the IKEA Philippines website, ikea.ph, which went live on the same day. “You can’t buy anything yet, but you can see what it will be like, soon,” shares Rojkjaer.
Get design tips
Products are not yet for sale on the website (that will coincide with the physical store’s opening in 2020), but from simply browsing the site, you can get a lot of decorating and lifestyle ideas. There are, for example, tips on how to create a flexible living room, how to give your room a summery look, and ways to add a personal touch to your space.
There is also a section about how IKEA uses sustainable methods and fair-trade practices in the production and selling of their pieces. The site also offers simple, doable tips on how to live more sustainably at home.
Future of online shopping, home delivery
Rojkjaer revealed more details about shopping at IKEA. “There will also be a call center and an e-commerce hub, so you can reach us anytime you want,” he shares. “We will have everything in stock, but in the e-commerce [site], we can do fast home delivery. It’s part of our promise to make your home better.” You can look forward to 55 different room setups for shoppers to see how each product and furniture piece can be used or styled.
“But try to come and visit the store, touch and feel the merchandise before you buy, we still have tons of inspiration here,” he adds. “And if you don’t want to buy, just come over and hang out, and have a meal of Swedish meatballs.”
