This Boho-Chic Local Clothing Brand Flatters All Body Types

Solana makes easy, breezy pieces that work from day to night.

(SPOT.ph) Life in the city means constantly being on the go from meetings to lunches to parties, with no time for outfit changes in betweenan especially difficult task when you’re sweating in the tropics all year round. So when you find clothes that keep you feeling both fresh and looking put-together all day, you know they’re keepers. And here’s the good newsthere’s a local clothing brand that does just that. Say hello to Solana.

Solana is dedicated to “simple and comfortable everyday wear for everywhere.”  The word ‘Solana’ means ‘sunshine’ or ‘sun-filled.’ Its goal is to empower women of different sizes—to give women clothes that they could look good and feel great in. The brand began as a passion project over the summer of 2018 by three sisters—Bea, Andie, and Marti Limpo. The three work closely with a small group of local seamstresses to create original designs and to ensure that each piece is treated with utmost care.

All of Solana's pieces are made from a locally sourced viscose linen blenda light, breathable material that looks great whether you’re speeding around town in sneakers or dolled up in heels at a dinner party. You can even take their pieces to the beach! The flowy, feminine silhouettes flatter all body types, which gives the brand major plus points, if you ask us. Basically, they’ve got the formula for function and fashion down to a science.

Juntos Long Sleeve Top (990) and Juntos Shorts (P790)

The Reversible Blusa Top is a definite stand out. Its flared sleeves give it a distinctly ancestral touch—the classic baro’t saya comes to mind. Add the textured fabric and wooden buttons and the result is a blouse that is elegant in a way that is uniquely Filipina. We’re also obsessed with the Juntos Co-ord in this bright orange shade called Sunset. Each of their pieces comes in a variety of earth and jewel tones.
