This Homegrown Brand Creates Banig Laptop Cases, Bags, and More

Cute, practical, and uniquely Filipino!

(SPOT.ph) If you’re still obsessed with those boho-chic, handwoven bags that were all over our Instagram feeds earlier this year, don’t worry because they haven’t left our radar. Though some may argue that those products prioritize aesthetic over practicality, this local brand shows that you can have both without having to sacrifice anything.

Modern functionality meets traditional techniques with Woven’s handmade banig products. They make practical goodies like laptop cases, wallets, mats, and bags through the art of banig weaving. The brand aims to preserve the art and the techniques perfected by the paraglara (banig weavers) of Saob Cave in Basey, Samar. The bright pops of color on the intertwined textures of the banig give their products a fresh and striking look, without overshadowing their ancestral origins.
