We're So Egg-Cited About Uniqlo's Gudetama Tees

The lazy yellow yolk is a mood.

(SPOT.ph) Sometime in the mid-2010s, a cultural phenomenon was born in the form of a Japanese cartoon character shaped like... well, a blob. By now, you've probably heard of Gudetama, or at least seen his gelatinous yellow form somewhere on the Internet. One of Sanrio's most popular characters since Hello Kitty, the character's name comes from the Japanese onomatepoeia gudegude which means "lazy," and the word tamago, which means "egg." Thus, his name literally means "lazy egg", ultra-relatable in all his apathetic (but adorable!) glory. If you're a fan of Gudetama (or can resonate with his sluggish disposition) you'll want to check out Uniqlo's Gudelicious Collection!

The collection, under Uniqlo's UT line, features graphic tees in soft pastel colors featuring the lethargic yellow yolk situated in various meals like pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and more. You won't be able to resist seeing the cute little blob dressed up in itty-bitty costumes and looking adorably cranky. Plus, he might just make you say, "mood."
