The iPhone 12 Will Be Out This Year and Here's Everything We Know About It
Reports say Apple will release four iPhones this year.
If you're looking at getting an iPhone this year, you might want to wait it out a bit and check out the new ones that are scheduled to come out in September 2020. According to various reports, Apple might have some very interesting plans related to their upcoming iPhone 12 line, including a range of different sizes, another camera upgrade, and more. Of course, it's all speculation at this point, but hey, it's always fun to imagine, right?
Here's everything we know so far about the Apple iPhone 12 series:
It might come in several sizes.
A roundup by MacRumors reports that there might be four iPhones in three different sizes coming our way: 5.4 inches, 6.1 inches, and 6.7 inches. On the other hand, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that there will be five new iPhones to look forward to this year—including a smaller 4.7-inch model—according to a report on MacWorld.
It might finally support 5G connectivity.
5G stands for fifth-generation connectivity, which allows super-fast Internet connection, greater data capacity, and enhanced reliability, meaning less downtime for your phone's Internet connection. Kuo predicts that there will be three iPhone 12 models with 5G, and that the 5G models will be launched in two phases, according to MacWorld.
The iPhone 12 might come with a long-range 3D camera.
According to Forbes, multiple sources have leaked that the iPhone 12 will be able to map your environment with its long-range 3D camera. It can scan and model a 3D image of your surroundings up to about 15 feet. Augmented reality through the iPhone 12's camera is also expected to be one of the key selling points of the new phone, on top of other enhanced photography tools.
The iPhone 12 might have USB-C.
When Apple introduced the iOS 13, it hinted at a USB-C charging upgrade. Though this is a possibility for the next phone release, there are also talks that Apple is also looking into developing "port-less, wireless-charging-only" devices in the future.
This is what the iPhone 12 might look like:
The folks behind YouTube channel ConceptsiPhone created some renders and a video on how the iPhone 12 might look based on Kuo's predictions. If we're basing it off the images, the iPhone 12 will sport a quad-camera system and will have a sleek notch-less display. We can't wait to see the real thing!
