SM Supermalls Are Implementing These Guidelines as Malls Reopen in Metro Manila
Make sure you follow them, too!
(SPOT.ph) As the Metro transitions to modified enhanced community quarantine on Saturday, May 16, the malls are starting to inform the public about the protocols they're implementing to ensure the safety of shoppers. SM Supermalls uploaded a video on their official Facebook page, which details the guidelines that they are enforcing for their customers.
Check it out:
Because shoppers' safety is a priority, they are implementing a no mask, no entry policy. They also have thermal cameras in all entrances, disinfectant mats for your feet, and alcohol and hand sanitizer dispensers. Shoppers will also have to practice physical distancing at all times. When riding escalators, people should be one step apart while only 50% of elevator capacity will be used to ensure proper physical distancing. One-way movement will also be followed. When picking up food in restaurants, chairs will be spaced out. Even at the parking lot, motorcycles must be parked in every other slot.
As for their sanitation team, they will be thoroughly disinfecting high-touch areas like grocery carts, baskets, hand rails, toilets, and more. Masks and face shields will also be provided for their employees and even rapid testing for extra protection. Malls are also going to be deep-cleaned after closing hours and before opening so you can shop safe the following day.
According to ABS-CBN, other safety protocols SM Supermalls are following include: disinfecting restrooms every 30 minutes, WiFi access to be disabled, leisure establishments to remain closed, and directional arrows to be placed on the floor to enforce "one-way customer traffic."
If you're planning to head out, keep in mind that you should be wearing a face mask at all times, don't touch your face, always wash your hands, and disinfect as soon as you get home. Stay safe, Spotters!
