(SPOT.ph) The Philippines celebrates its 122nd Independence Day today, June 12. While most of the country is still under quarantine due to the pandemic, Filipinos are out on the streets at a grand "mañanita" (a nod to a certain Major General's birthday celebration that took place at a time of strict social-distancing rules) to practice their right to free speech and peaceful assembly and give the government a piece of their mind. Making a stand is not limited to just private citizens—brands are starting to make a statement, too! Case in point: popular tumbler brand Klean Kanteen.
In a Facebook post, Klean Kanteen writes: "We believe in change that lasts a lifetime. This Independence Day, we stand proudly with our countrymen pushing for a more just, more equitable, and more humane society. Padayon!" The message is accompanied with three digital renders of Klean Kanteen's tumblers, each one artfully labelled with "#MassTestingNow," "#JunkTerrorBill," and "StopTheKillings." The Facebook post also links to several resources to back up their stand about the three national issues they've highlighted in their post.

While the tumblers are only digital renders, our hopes are high that Klean Kanteen turns them into actual tumbler designs so we can all quench our thirsts—with a bold statement.
