Herschel Just Revamped Their Classic Backpacks With Eco-Friendly Fabric
They're made from recycled plastic bottles.
(SPOT.ph) If you've been trying to make the switch to a more eco-friendly lifestyle for some time now, you may be slowly working towards more sustainably made items. We found something you can add to your list of eco-friendly essentials: Herschel just revamped some of their most popular backpacks and duffle bags with sustainable materials. Say hello to the Eco Collection!
Herschel is known for their durable, form-meets-function line of bags and the Eco Collection includes some of their most beloved silhouettes including the Classic Backpack, the Heritage Backpack, the Nova Backpack, and the City Backpack, just to name a few. Though these new pieces look identical to the regular line of bags Herschel has released throughout the years, they're actually made with an eco-friendly fabric. It's made from post-consumer water bottles that are cleaned, melted, spun, and woven into fabric then sewn into the bags you see in the store. Each bag contains at least 15 recycled water bottles with the Novel Duffle, the biggest piece in the collection containing as many as 22 recycled bottles.
Note that the Eco Collection only includes selected colors in each design, so if you’re shopping in stores, be sure to clarify that the piece you’re getting is from this sustainable collection—it should have a little tag on the side indicating that it's made from recycled materials. If you’re shopping online, look for the stylized recycling symbol on the upper right hand corner of the bag's display photo.
