(SPOT.ph) Ah, the 1980s. The hair was big, the music was upbeat, and the fashion was bold. In recent years, many style trends from the '80s have made a comeback including spandex clothing, high-waisted jeans, and cropped sweatshirts to name a few. One brand that everyone was obsessed with in that neon-colored period was Esprit. Though the label is still around today, they’ve focused more on versatile wardrobe pieces and understated styles in the last few years. But now, they’re bringing the '80s back in full force: On January 6, Esprit announced the launch of their Archive Re-Issue Capsule Collection, which sees the return of some of their most popular styles from the decade.

The Archive Re-Issue Capsule Collection includes two of Esprit’s '80s classics: the Boxy T-Shirt and the Vintage Oversized Sweatshirt, both of which feature the brand’s signature all-caps logo—created by graphic designer John Casado in 1979—front and center. Each style comes in a variety of bright colors, true to the loud-and-proud fashion of the decade as well as the rebellious spirit that Esprit sought to embody when it was founded in the 1960s. "The launch is a revival of the brand's '80s nostalgic styles while paying tribute to Esprit's core philosophy in creating joy through laid-back, sustainable, and fashion-forward pieces,” said the label in a press release.

The collection is a collaboration between Esprit and global e-commerce platform HBX, which was created by streetwear publication Hypebeast. "The partnership between Esprit and HBX represents the coming together of an iconic and modern apparel brand with a leading online platform," said Esprit, bringing their old-school styles to the modern fashion landscape.
The Esprit Archive Re-Issue Capsule Collection is now available on HBX. T-shirts are priced at U.S. $98 (roughly P5,019) while sweatshirts retail for U.S. $163 (roughly P8,348). No word yet on whether the line will hit local stores, but our fingers are crossed!
