(SPOT.ph) While our personal gadgets serve many practical purposes—they help us work, assist us in cleaning, allow us to communicate with our loved ones, and so on—they also provide us with entertainment. What else would we spend all our time on if not streaming new series or scrolling through our news feeds? And in the age of working from home and countless quarantine protocols, devices designed to improve our leisure time are particularly beneficial. With the you-know-what (it starts with a "p" and rhymes with "mandemic") still raging as 2022 goes on, you may be looking for ways to elevate your home-entertainment system and make your days stuck indoors a little more bearable. If so, then Samsung's latest reveal came just in time. On January 4, the tech retailer unveiled The Freestyle. It's a projector, smart speaker, and ambient lighting device all rolled into one!

Samsung Just Unveiled The Freestyle and It Might Just Be the Ultimate Home-Entertainment Device
Thanks to its compact size and lightweight build (it’s only 830 grams!), this cool device is perfect for entertainment both at home and on the go whether you're by yourself or with friends and family. Its three main features allow for a wide variety of leisure activities. For one—and perhaps most notably—the device can be used as a projector. It  rotates up to 180 degrees, so you can easily project high-quality videos up to 100 inches in display size onto your floor, ceiling, and anywhere in between. It's made to automatically adjust to any surface or angle, so you get a proportional, crystal-clear image every time.
If you usually watch movies and shows on your phone or laptop screen, The Freestyle can give you that immersive, cinematic experience you just can't get from a smaller screen. And since it has a built-in speaker, you won’t have to connect an external speaker to the device to get that movie theater-like sound experience. It promises crisp, distortion-free, 360-degree sound so you can totally zone in when watching a blockbuster film or marathoning your favorite show. Plus, it works with external batteries or when plugged into a traditional electrical socket so you should have no problem using it at home or on vacation—no complicated wiring setup required.

In case you're not in the mood to stream a series or watch a YouTube video, then you can also use The Freestyle as a Bluetooth speaker. You get that same sound quality the device provides for movies and TV shows without having to clutter your space with too many gadgets. It also works as an ambient lighting device by analyzing the music and projecting visual effects to match the vibe of your fave tunes. And keep in mind, it's not just a regular speaker, it's a smart speaker. That means you can control the multi-functitonal device with a voice assistant and use all of its nifty features hands-free.

Samsung's The Freestyle is currently available for pre-order online in the U.S. and will expand to other global markets in the coming months. It retails for U.S. $899 (roughly P46,149).
