This Relatable Tee Comes With Everything You Need to Relieve Chronic Back Pain
It's okay to admit you're part of the Back Pain Club now, too.
(SPOT.ph) So no one told you life was going to be this way—sitting in front of a computer for hours on end every day, grinding through a grueling job, using coffee as your source of sanity, and all while your back hurts. Perpetually. Local brand Maturity at My Best understands the struggle.
Maturity at My Best (MAMB) is a T-shirt brand that—as its name suggests—is all about embracing (or at least accepting) the quirks of adulthood with tees sporting phrases like "acid reflux reflux club" (parodying a certain streetwear brand) and "ako nanaman bahala" in a stylized graphic inspired by Batman (get it?). But the shirt that really caught our eye—probably because it's so excruciatingly relatable—is their latest. The Back Pain Club shirt features those same words printed in large letters on the back as well as on a smaller logo up front on the lefthand side. And let’s be honest: we’re all part of that club now.
MAMB owner Carlo Maala says he got the idea for the Back Pain Club shirt upon noticing that most people these days like to be part of groups and communities whether online or in person be it a cycling club, a Facebook group like the viral Home Buddies community, or even a fandom like the BTS ARMY. "So why not create a club for something that you are accidentaly part just for fun?" he said. And yup, that's the Back Pain Club.
The Back Pain Club tee is already a funny statement shirt all on its own, but with each order, you actually get more than just a brand-new top—it comes with what they call a We Got Your Back Kit packed with various essentials for relieving back pain. Pretty sure we could all use that right about now. "During this pandemic time, most people are working from home, sitting for long hours in front of the computer, and might be experiencing back pain," Maala says, noting the widespread need for back-pain relief among young professionals. "These people are members of the Back Pain Club, but they just haven’t realized it yet.”
Along with the Back Pain Club shirt, the We Got Your Back Kit includes a pack of Salonpas' topical pain-relief patches and pot of Katinko's pain-relief ointment, both of which are secret weapons for those with chronic back pain. You also get a handy card where you can make the spots on your back where you tend to feel the most pain as well as cute stickers that poke fun at the perpetual soreness that plagues us all in adulthood. "I wanted people to feel like they are opening gifts," says Maala on conceptualizing the Kit. "I want to sell the experience and not just the shirt."
