Our Favorites Pieces From Longchamp's Spring/Summer 2022 Collection
Longchamp’s Spring/Summer 2022 ready-to-wear collection is inspired by the French region of Provence, which is known for its sunny weather and scenic countryside. The line combines rustic fabrics and silhouettes with bright, summery colors to create handbags and crossbody bags that are as laidback as they are elegant.
The centerpiece of the collection is an updated version of the Le Pliage known as the Le Pliage Torchon, which is made primarily from linen fabric. Longchamp teamed up with French linen tea-towel brand Charvet to create the style, which is available in several sizes. Each sports a red-white-and-blue striped design on the white linen. Combined with Le Pliage's signature button flap and leather straps, the colorway and rustic fabric gives the classic a style an ease and lightness that makes it extra effortless.

The easy-going Torchon is a follow-up to Longchamp’s previous collaboration with Filt where they created Le Pliage bags with net-like bodies—you may recall the style made waves after appearing on Netflix’s Emily in Paris. The Le Pliage Filet, as its known, is still present in Longchamp's latest line in a variety of sizes and colors. You can go for the XS when toting around just the essentials or opt for the larger top-handle bag on busier days. Both sizes are great options for sunny days and we're especially loving the blush pink version of the carrier.

For a more unique version of the Le Pliage, check out the Saint Tropez bag. It sports a basket-like body with cowhide trimming in vibrant colors that stand out against the rustic base. Finishing off the piece are gold hardware pieces and a horse embroidered onto the center. You can use the purse as a crossbody bag or handbag—its compact size is a great pick for casual days.

Another reimagining of the classic Le Pliage is the Épure, a no-frills bucket bag available in warm, earthy tones including green, brown, and orange. The tube-shaped purse offers a spacious and structured build that gives you plenty of room for your essentials and is easy to pair with both relaxed and dressy looks.

And in case you're looking to explore Longchamp styles aside from the Le Pliage, the French brand also has brand-new iterations of other popular styles like the Roseau. On our wish lists is the understated Essential Toile Bucket Bag. Like the Épure, it has a structured shape and a mostly no-fuss design that you'll have no problem pairing with pretty much everything.

Longchamp is available at Rustan’s branches at Ayala Center Makati, Shangri-La Plaza, Greenbelt 5, and on the Rustan's website.
UPDATE (March 28, 3:30 p.m.): The previous version of the article mistakenly referred to the Épure Bucket Bag as the Cuir De Russie Bucket Bag. It has been updated to correct this information.
