(SPOT.ph) Bring on the chonk. That seems to be one of the ways fashion, especially footwear, is going (back) and trust us, we're not complaining. What was once thought of as kicks only dads would wear—hence, "dad sneaks"—is trendy once more, thanks to some nostalgia-driven motivation for everything retro, or hey, maybe it actually does just look good in general.Â

Who knows where the line blurs? Now if you've been wondering whether only guys can sport the look, know that those looking for a more feminine style definitely have the chance to get in on the trend: meet the new Keds Bounce. Keds takes on the Dad Sneaks with the new Bounce
Oh, yes. Anybody get flashbacks to your childhood posters of the Spice Girls? Particularly Sporty Spice? Same here. We've got a smooth mix of textures on the upper—is that a little suede we spot?—in simple colorways, but it's really the thick sole that almost balloons from the shoe like a cloud that has us hooked. These were the exact pair we wanted once when we were still taking P.E. classes in elementary.Â

The Bounce was "inspired by our rich sports heritage and fused into today's trends" said Keds on their Instagram. And yup, the old-school designed is balanced out by the minimalist colorways. Okay, so granted the Sporty Spice of our childhood would have gone for more color, but we're sure the design would've had her attention, too. For today's purposes though, the new Keds Bounce is available in three neutral colorways: White Light Blue, Light Grey, and White Light Grey, with the thick sole being more than enough to make an old-school statement. Fun fact: this style is Keds' "chunkiest sneaker to date!".
