Cacao and flax seeds make a surprisingly tasty snack
The Undercover Eater can't stop munching on these crispy things.
(SPOT.ph) From Sheila G.'s rather high-end Brownie Brittle to more readily accessible brands like Cream-O’s Brownie Crunch and Mister Donut's Brownie Brittle, apparently, thinned-out brownie cookies are the latest grab-and-go snack. Of course, I'm eating them, too.
In case you're wondering why everyone is suddenly so warm for these brownie chips, you have the answer right there. Chips. That crispy brownie texture that makes a one-time treat so absolutely addictive. They remind me of the crisp edges you scrape off from a pan fresh from housing brownies. They don't sell them in stores, but those are the best parts.
Snack Box PH recreates this effect, and they do it so well. The young company launched early this year and I've been chasing them in weekend markets ever since. They're usually a staple at bazaars, food pop-ups, or mall events. The clean-cut, minimalist packaging will instantly pique your interest (and the saleslady they had at Gourmand Market will convince you that you're buying the best thing ever), but it’s what’s inside that’ll get you talking. Made with 100% natural ingredients, each perfect little square packs a whole lot of punch.
The Roasted Cacao Nibs with Chia and Flax Seeds Brownie Crunch is a personal favorite. Crisp, chocolatey, and with a delightful hint of smoky, roasted flavor, you won’t even feel like you’re eating a “healthy snack.” The chia and flax seeds add extra crunch. Take your time with the brownies, and don't worry about leaving the box open. The brownie crunch starts getting chewier and, to be honest, tastier, and I love it. (Don’t judge! I’m just going with what my taste buds tell me!).
There’s their newest flavor, Black Sesame Almond Crunch, and while it might not be as chocolatey as the Cacao Nib, it has its own distinct taste, the nutty sesame and almond flavors melding very well together. For a lighter flavor, the Cereal Crunch is the way to go, while the Salted Caramel is the ultimate indulgence.
Brownie crunch may be one of the latest snack trends, but it's one that I think is definitely staying. With flavor and texture like no other, it’s the best of both worlds, and Snack Box PH is on point when it comes to satisfying my sweet cravings.
