Fashion and cars meet at the Superstyle MNL 2: Summer Bazaar Series from May 2 to 4, 2 p.m., at the Metrotent. Get your comics at the Free Comic Book Day 2014 on May 3, 10 a.m., at participating Fully Booked branches.

 

Every first Saturday of May, comic book stores and publishers around the world give away comic singles for free to thank fans for their support and to introduce characters to new enthusiasts. Comics are made and ordered especially for this, and Fully Booked will be setting up a table in each branch to showcase all the titles that are for free. A customer can choose any title from the designated free comics table. Manga titles, however, are not included in the giveaway.

Revisit the timeless hits of one of the country's highly esteemed icons of Filipino music as the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra unveils its first Spotlight Series with The Music of Ryan Cayabyab on May 3, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., at the CCP's Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo Theater.

 

A night of celebration on the eve of his 60th birthday, The Music of Ryan Cayabyab will mark another milestone of the maestro's musical journey as it showcases his well-loved hits interpreted the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, a 60-piece choir and some of the country's most distinguished musical performers. The show is the first of many as the orchestra launches its signature brand, Spotlight Series, a chain of concerts that will feature masterpieces from world-renowned composers, performers, and music masters.

Labing-Isa, a group of graduating students, will be holding their multimedia exhibit entitled, Papunta Ka Pa Lang, Pabalik Na Ako, as a tribute to elders who are considered the wisest figures, having experienced more than the younger generations could ever have. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of artworks will benefit the House of Somang, an institution that shelters and cares for the needs of their featured elderly.

 

The exhibit will be at Artists Haven in BF Homes, Parañaque City on May 2, 5 p.m. It will run through May 3. Admission is free.

The Reality Film Lab believes that a good film can only be made by a collaboration among skilled hands. More than being an art, filmmaking is a honed craft and the workshop aims to have students fully equipped with knowledge and techniques currently used in today's industry. The program aims to help dedicated individuals by equipping them with the necessary tools and information to help improve the quality of filmmaking here in the Philippines.
