5 Things to Do This Summer at BGC
BGC has some cool summer activities lined up...and most of them are free!
(SPOT.ph) With the non-stop heat, we'd rather spend the rest of our summer indoors, but Bonifacio Global City urges us yet again to step out and get a dose of Vitamin D. BGC has lined up a series of events that will tempt even the most heat-phobic to step out of their caves.
1. Keeping It Cool
From May 10 to 31, BGC will feature cooling stations as part of their summer installations. Refreshment stands and cabanas with rejuvenating mists await thirsty and tired shoppers. And if you haven't gotten a chance to go out of town this summer, don't worry, the Urban Beach Lounge will bring the beach to the city. From May 16 to 25 beach chairs and parasols will be in place for you to lounge around. Sandboxes will also provide some fun for the kids, since it's definitely not the beach without getting a little sand in between your toes.
2. Outdoor Movies
Bring out your mats and picnic baskets for BGC's Outdoor Movies from May 17 to 18. Popular, family-friendly, and totally summer-y movies like Grease and Dirty Dancing will be screened for free at Bonifacio High Street. Leave the umbrellas and sunblock at home-the screenings will start at 5 p.m.
3. Forbidden Broadway-Live!
After a taste of summer cinema, take your picnic gear to Kasalikasan from May 23 to 25. Forbidden Broadway will be staged for the first time in BGC, together with Upstart Productions. The musical pokes fun at Broadway classics such as Mamma Mia!, Wicked, and Les Miserables. Listen to the "unoriginal" cast recording to get an idea of this delightful twist on Broadway hits.
For every receipt or accumulated receipts of P1, 500 from Bonifacio High Street, One and Two Parkade, The Fort Entertainment Strip, Crossroads, Bonifacio Stopover, and The Mind Museum, shoppers can receive two tickets to the show.
Who can resist filling the city with (approved) graffiti?
4. Art Activities
Art at BGC never stops and they're bringing back Chalk the Walk from May 17 to June 1, when you can doodle along with artists who will brighten up the pathways of BGC. Art Mart also returns from May 17 to 18 and May 24 to 25. Affordable art pieces from up-and-coming artists will be up for sale, along with free art and fitness workshops open to kids and kids at heart.

5. Capping It Off with a Concert
With summer coming to a close, BGC celebrates with a concert, #LastDaysofSummer, on May 31. Up Dharma Down and Yolanda Moon will perform at this little farewell to another sizzling season in the city.
