Treat yourself to a free dose of culture this month with the Manila Symphony Orchestra
Free shows and lessons, courtesy of one of Asia’s oldest orchestras
(SPOT.ph) One of Asia’s oldest orchestras will soon be filling the halls of your favorite malls with their soothing sound. The Manila Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with Ayala Malls, aims to bring classical music closer to the everyday mall-goer. You might soon catch them in impromptu rehearsals around Glorietta 5 (which has great acoustics, mind you), but they’ll also be hosting workshops and performing around the city this summer.
Kids and teenagers can learn from orchestra’s greatest musicians in three-hour training sessions. The workshops will be on April 12 at UP Town Center, April 19 at the Fairview Terraces, April 26 at Market! Market!, May 3 at Alabang Town Center, and May 17 at Solenad. The best part? It’s free!
Experience hour-long performances by the Manila Symphony Orchestra in celebration of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach’s 300th birthday. Catch the performances on March 21 at Greenbelt’s The Gallery, Alabang Town Center’s Corte delas Palmas, Trinoma’s Park Level, and Glorietta 5’s Atrium.
